Reggae Brunch

As mentioned in my previous post A Socialites Playground, The guys behind Duo London create experiences outside their venue too. This time I present you with their Caribbean inspired brunch which runs every weekend throughout the year in multiple cities across the UK! The resident DJ brings those island vibes into full effect as you dine and whine to the rhythm of soca, dancehall, reggae, bashment and afro beats, with an hour of bottomless rum punch, followed by a 3-course Caribbean meal (vegetarian options available).

The Beach Bar at The Montague

For a fancier approach to a beach themed brunch, the summer beach bar pop-up at The Montague on the Gardens provides a fun, yet elegant experience under a straw thatched hut complete with real sand, delicious food, cocktails served in coconuts and plenty of props to capture those insta-worthy shots including a jet ski to pose on! They have even been voted ‘Best Summer Party Venue’ at the London Venue Awards. After the main meal, you’ll be tempted with a range of desserts – ice cream is always a winner in my opinion!

Pineapple Xpress

Did someone say soul food?! The creators of Pineapple Express have blended elements of traditional food from different countries, nationalities and cultures and presented it as happiness on a plate! I visited their establishment in Brick Lane last year and they have clearly been doing well, as they have since moved to a bigger venue in Ilford – the progress says it all; I mean who can say no to food being served inside a pineapple, right?! The flavours of the tropics await you!

Laki Kane

Described as London’s tropical escape cocktail bar, Laki Kane offers a range of hands-on experiences from cocktail masterclasses, rum tasting or even have a go at making your own rum in their on-site distillery! Who said you had to go to the Caribbean for such an experience?! The twist, however is that the cuisine served in the restaurant is from the other side of the world! Fusing a carnival experience with Thai cuisine and a blend of the Aloha spirit, Laki Kane is a haven of tropical vibes from the food, drinks, décor and even the staff uniforms!

There’s something going on every night at this venue, so no matter what day of the week you feel a need to escape reality, Mahiki is ready to transport you to an island paradise. The entire venue boasts tropical vibes through its ‘Tiki’ Polynesian themed interiors, drinking vessels and rum based cocktails. With branches across the UK and Europe, better start practicing your Hula dancing technique now! Oh, by the way, Mahiki is hugely popular with the celebrities too!
